  • El estado pasó de 13 a mil 300 voluntades anticipadas firmadas durante el sexenio.

La Secretaría de Salud Jalisco (SSJ) a través del Instituto Jalisciense de Alivio al Dolor y Cuidados Paliativos (PALIA) ofrece la firma de la voluntad anticipada, un derecho humano que permite a las personas expresar sus preferencias sobre la atención médica en la etapa final de la vida ante una enfermedad terminal.

Desde 2018 la entidad implementó el Registro Único Estatal de Directrices Anticipadas, disponible en más de 400 centros de salud, hospitales públicos y privados, y notarias.

Patrick Pendavis Heksner, director de PALIA, destacó que este proceso evita el sufrimiento de pacientes y familias y afirmó que desde 2020 el número de firmas ha crecido significativamente, alcanzando mil 300 en el presente gobierno.
